Why Choose AppStudio as Your Crypto Wallet Development Company

Key Management Is the Product

A wallet is a key management system with a user interface attached. We design the seed generation, storage, recovery, and signing flow first, because every wallet that has lost customer funds lost them somewhere in that chain rather than in the app screens.

Audited Before Anyone Deposits

Contracts and custody logic go through internal review and independent audit before launch. Fixing a vulnerability in testing costs a sprint. Finding it after users have funded the wallet costs the business.

Built for the Regulator You Will Meet

Canadian projects are scoped around FINTRAC and MSB obligations, with KYC, AML screening, and travel rule handling designed in rather than bolted on when a bank asks. The same applies to FinCEN and FCA requirements abroad.

We Ship, Then We Stay

Chains fork, node providers deprecate endpoints, and Apple changes its rules about crypto apps most years. Ongoing support keeps your wallet functioning and listed rather than quietly breaking six months after handover.

How Cryptocurrency Wallet Development Works With AppStudio

Every wallet runs through five phases, Discovery, Design, Build, Audit, and Launch, with a go or no-go decision at the end of each one.

Discovery

We settle the questions that determine everything downstream: custodial or non-custodial, which chains and assets, which jurisdictions, and whether you will be holding customer funds. That last answer changes your regulatory position entirely, so we would rather establish it in week one than in month five.

Design

Key generation, storage, backup, recovery, and signing are designed before any screens are drawn. Then we prototype the user flows and test them, because the hardest part of wallet UX is helping people who have never managed a private key avoid losing everything on their first attempt.

Build

Two-week sprints with a working build at the end of each, running on testnet so you can move real transactions without real money. Automated tests cover transaction construction and fee logic from the first commit, since those are the paths where mistakes are expensive and silent.

Audit

Internal security review, then independent audit of smart contracts and custody logic, then penetration testing of the apps and APIs. Findings are fixed and retested before launch. This phase is not optional and we will not skip it to hit a date.

Launch

App Store and Google Play submission with crypto policy requirements handled, staged rollout, and node and transaction monitoring from day one. After launch we track chain upgrades, deprecated endpoints, and store policy changes, all of which will break an unattended wallet within a year.

What Separates a Working Wallet From a Liability

Almost any competent mobile team can display a balance and broadcast a transaction. The difficulty in crypto wallet development is everything around that: where the private key lives, what happens when the user reinstalls the app, how a stuck transaction gets replaced, and who is liable when someone loses a seed phrase. AppStudio designs those paths first and the interface second.

The other thing that catches teams out is that a wallet is never finished. Chains upgrade, node providers retire endpoints, fee markets shift, and Apple periodically revises what a crypto app may do. A wallet with no maintenance plan is a wallet with an expiry date, and we would rather set that expectation before you sign than after.

We are also willing to tell you when the answer is not a custom build. If a white-label core with your branding gets you to market three months sooner and the difference is not strategic, that is the advice you will get, even though it is the smaller engagement for us.

This is the first real decision and it sets your regulatory exposure, your insurance position, and your support burden. Non-custodial keeps you out of the money transmission business but means a lost seed phrase is a lost account. Custodial gives users a familiar recovery experience and puts you squarely under FINTRAC or FinCEN. We work through the trade-off with you rather than defaulting to whichever is easier to build.
Wallets that hard-code one chain end up rebuilt when the business adds a second. We abstract the chain layer from the start so supporting an additional network is a contained piece of work rather than a project. The cost of doing this up front is roughly a fortnight, which is far less than the alternative.
Nobody praises a wallet for working normally. They form their opinion the day they change phones. Seed phrases, encrypted cloud backup, social recovery, and MPC each have real trade-offs between security and the chance a user locks themselves out permanently, and the right choice depends on who your users are.
KYC, AML screening, sanctions lists, transaction monitoring, and travel rule reporting are far cheaper to build in than to add once you are live. Retrofitting compliance usually means a migration, a period of degraded service, and a conversation with a regulator you would rather not be having.
Bad fee estimation strands transactions and generates support tickets. We implement replace-by-fee, sensible gas defaults, and clear pending states, because these unglamorous details are what separate a wallet people keep from one they uninstall.
Source code, infrastructure, node accounts, store listings, and contract deployment keys are yours. Some agencies keep infrastructure under their own accounts, which quietly makes leaving impossible. Ask every firm you shortlist where the deployment keys will live.
We build software. We are not your legal counsel, we do not obtain your MSB registration for you, and we will not advise on tokenomics as an investment proposition. We work alongside your legal and compliance advisers, and if you need those services rather than engineering, we will say so.

Your Cryptocurrency Wallet Development Partner in Canada and Beyond

AppStudio works with exchanges, fintechs, payment platforms, token issuers, and enterprises that need digital asset custody they can defend to an auditor. Some clients arrive wanting a consumer wallet app, others a business crypto wallet for treasury, and a good number an exchange with wallet infrastructure underneath it.

Being a Canadian cryptocurrency wallet development company matters more here than it does in most software categories. Custody, money transmission, and reporting obligations are jurisdictional, and a team that has been through FINTRAC and MSB requirements will scope your project differently from one that has not. Clients also engage us from the United States, the United Kingdom, and the UAE, where the equivalent rules differ in detail but not in seriousness.

Most firms in this space describe themselves narrowly. We work across the whole surface, so the same team functions as a crypto wallet app development company, a cryptocurrency exchange software development company, and a crypto coin development company depending on what you need. That matters because these components share custody infrastructure, and splitting them across separate cryptocurrency development companies tends to produce three systems that disagree about the same balance. Most crypto development companies specialise in one layer, so if you do go that route, agree who owns the ledger before anyone writes code. Where a single crypto development company can cover wallet, exchange, and token work, that question answers itself.

Whether you are looking for a cryptocurrency wallet app development company, cryptocurrency exchange development services, or custom crypto coin development services, the first step is the same. Cryptocurrency Wallet Development FAQs

It depends on the custody model, the number of chains, and whether you are regulated. A single-chain non-custodial wallet generally starts around sixty thousand Canadian dollars. A multi-currency wallet with swaps, fiat on-ramp, and an admin portal usually runs between a hundred and twenty and two hundred and fifty thousand. Custodial platforms and exchanges go beyond that because of the compliance and security work. We give a range per phase after the first call rather than one number up front.
Judge on evidence rather than positioning. Ask which wallets or exchanges the firm has actually shipped, whether those products went through independent security audit, and who holds the deployment keys and infrastructure at the end. AppStudio will answer all three plainly, and we would encourage you to put the same questions to everyone you shortlist.
Book a free consultation or use the form on this page and a delivery lead will come back to you, usually the same working day. We stay available after launch too, which is when most wallet questions actually arise.
More than the app. A crypto wallet development company builds key generation and storage, transaction construction and signing, fee estimation, node infrastructure, backup and recovery, and the admin tooling behind it. The interface is the visible tenth of the work and rarely the part that determines whether the product succeeds.
Yes. Crypto wallet development services here cover native iOS and Android, cross-platform builds, web wallets, and browser extensions. Most clients launch on mobile and web together because users expect to reach their funds from either, and sharing the backend makes that considerably cheaper than it sounds.
In a non-custodial wallet the user holds the private keys and you never control their funds, which keeps you out of money transmission regulation in most jurisdictions but means a lost seed phrase is unrecoverable. In a custodial wallet you hold the keys, users get a familiar password reset experience, and you take on regulatory registration, security obligations, and liability. Neither is universally correct and we work the decision through with you in discovery.
Yes. A multi cryptocurrency wallet app supporting Bitcoin, Ethereum, Solana, Polygon, BNB Chain, and the major tokens is one of the more common requests. The important part is abstracting the chain layer at the start so adding a network later is a contained piece of work rather than a rebuild.
Yes. As a bitcoin wallet app development company we handle the parts specific to Bitcoin properly: UTXO selection, SegWit and Taproot addresses, PSBT signing, replace-by-fee, and Lightning where it genuinely fits. Teams that treat Bitcoin like an account-based chain produce wallets that strand transactions.
Yes. A crypto wallet with built-in exchange needs swap routing, liquidity aggregation across providers, slippage handling, and clear pricing before the user confirms. If you are also adding fiat on-ramp and off-ramp, that brings KYC obligations even when the wallet itself is non-custodial, which is worth knowing early.
Yes. Cryptocurrency exchange development covers the matching engine, order book, trading interface, wallet and custody infrastructure, liquidity integration, and the KYC and AML layer. As a cryptocurrency exchange development company we treat the custody side as the highest risk component, because that is where exchanges have historically failed.
Yes. Crypto exchange app development for iOS and Android typically follows the web platform, sharing the same matching engine and account system. Mobile brings its own constraints around session security, biometric authentication, and store policy, so it is planned rather than ported.
Yes. Custom crypto coin development services cover token design, contract implementation to ERC-20, ERC-721, ERC-1155, or SPL standards, distribution and vesting logic, and independent audit before deployment. As a crypto token development company we build and audit the contracts, and work alongside your legal advisers on how the token is offered.
Both descriptions fit. Blockchain wallet development services and crypto wallet work are the same discipline, and our engineers work across chains rather than specialising in one ecosystem. For broader distributed ledger work beyond wallets, see our blockchain app development page.
Yes. A business crypto wallet needs multi-signature approval policies that mirror your existing financial controls, role-based access, spending limits, full audit trails, and reporting your accountants can reconcile. This is a different product from a consumer wallet and we scope it differently.
It depends on the model. Non-custodial wallets use the device Secure Enclave or Android Keystore with encrypted backup. Custodial platforms use hardware security modules, multi-party computation, or multi-signature schemes with keys split across parties and locations, plus cold storage for the majority of holdings. In all cases the design is reviewed independently before launch.
Yes, and we insist on it. Internal review comes first, then an independent third-party audit of contracts and custody logic, then penetration testing of the apps and APIs. Findings are fixed and retested before mainnet. We will not skip this phase to make a launch date.
A focused non-custodial wallet on one or two chains takes roughly four to five months including audit. A multi-currency wallet with swaps and fiat rails runs six to nine. Exchanges and custodial platforms take nine to eighteen depending on regulatory scope. Audit adds three to five weeks and should be in every plan from the start.
Custody model first, regulatory scope second, chain count third. Everything else is comparatively minor. A non-custodial single-chain wallet and a regulated custodial platform can differ by a factor of five even though they look similar to a user, which is why a quote given before those questions are settled is meaningless.
Yes. We are a Canadian company and cryptocurrency wallet Canada projects are a core part of our work, scoped around FINTRAC registration, MSB obligations, and provincial securities considerations where a token is involved. Canadian data residency is available where your board or your bank requires it.
Yes. Building a Canadian cryptocurrency wallet means Interac and CAD on-ramp integration, compliance with Canadian reporting obligations, and bilingual support where your users expect it. Users searching for the best cryptocurrency wallet Canada has available are comparing on trust and withdrawal reliability far more than on features, which shapes what we prioritise.
No. Alongside Canadian work we deliver for clients in the United States, the United Kingdom, and the UAE. A crypto wallet development company in USA engagements typically brings FinCEN and state money transmitter considerations, which we scope with your counsel rather than guessing at.
Yes. Digital wallet app development covers stored value, loyalty, closed-loop payments, and card provisioning through Apple Pay and Google Pay. Plenty of clients start with a digital wallet and add crypto later, and the account and ledger architecture is similar enough that planning for both early is worth doing.
Yes. White-label crypto wallet development solutions put a proven core under your branding and cut months off a launch. The trade-off is less architectural freedom. When the difference is not strategic to your business we will recommend this route even though it is the smaller engagement for us.
Yes. You can hire cryptocurrency developers and wallet engineers into your own team on a monthly basis, interview every candidate, and direct the work yourself. See our cryptocurrency developers page for how that engagement works.
Yes. Our blockchain app developers have shipped wallets, exchanges, and contract systems that hold real value, rather than only testnet demonstrations and hackathon projects. Ask about specific deployed products in the first call, because that is the question that separates the two.
You do. Source code sits in your repository, node accounts and cloud infrastructure are provisioned under your organisation, and contract deployment keys are held by you. Some agencies keep infrastructure under their own accounts, which quietly makes leaving them impossible, so it is worth asking everyone you shortlist.
Usually, provided it is built with the policies in mind. Apple and Google both have specific rules for crypto apps covering exchange functionality, initial coin offerings, and mining, and both have rejected wallets for issues that were avoidable at design time. We handle submission and around ninety-six percent of our submissions clear review first time.
Chains upgrade, node providers deprecate endpoints, fee markets move, and store policies change. Our support plans cover node and transaction monitoring, security patching, chain upgrades, and store compliance for a fixed monthly cost. A wallet left unattended for a year will usually have broken in at least one of those ways.
Yes, and it is a regular request. We audit the codebase and the custody design first, then give you an honest read on whether extending it or rebuilding is safer and cheaper over two years. Where the existing key management is sound we say so and simply maintain it.
Yes. Staking, yield, and protocol integrations can be built into a wallet, and the engineering is manageable. The harder questions are usually about how you present risk to users and whether offering these features changes your regulatory position, both of which we raise in discovery.
Yes. Trezor, Ledger, and other hardware wallet pairing is a common requirement for products serving higher-value accounts, alongside WalletConnect for dApp connectivity. It is far easier to design in from the start than to add once the signing flow is built.
Yes. As a cryptocurrency software development company we build trading platforms, custody systems, payment rails, admin and compliance tooling, and analytics. Cryptocurrency application development of this kind usually surrounds a wallet rather than replacing it.
Ask three questions of everyone you shortlist. Which wallets have you shipped that hold real value, not testnet demonstrations. Did they go through independent audit, and can we see the report. Who holds the deployment keys and infrastructure at the end. Most cryptocurrency development companies answer the first, fewer answer the second, and the third separates a genuine partner from a firm that intends to keep you locked in. Titles like top cryptocurrency wallet development company are self-awarded, so ignore them and check the evidence.
Both, and they are hard to separate in practice. We operate as a cryptocurrency application development company across wallets, exchanges, tokens, and the compliance tooling around them. Splitting that work across several wallet app development companies usually creates integration problems, because these systems all read from the same custody layer.
We maintain a white-label core, and these cryptocurrency wallet development solutions cover key management, multi-chain support, swaps, and an admin portal out of the box. Starting there gets you to market considerably faster than a ground-up build and you still receive the source code. Where your product genuinely needs something different, custom cryptocurrency development solutions are the right call and we will say so. Our crypto wallet services run from a two-week architecture review through to full delivery and support, so as a crypto wallet service provider we are equally happy either way. The same applies to the broader cryptocurrency app development solutions we maintain around the wallet itself.
Yes. As a digital wallet app development company we cover stored value, loyalty, closed-loop payments, and card provisioning through Apple Pay and Google Pay. A mobile wallet app development company engagement for a retailer or a transit operator looks much like a crypto build with the chain layer removed, and a good number of those clients later add digital assets to the same ledger. We also act as a mobile wallet development company for clients who never intend to touch crypto at all, so cryptocurrency wallet application development and conventional wallet work sit side by side here.
Yes. As a bitcoin wallet development company most of our Bitcoin work is custody, but we also build payment processors, Lightning integrations, merchant settlement tools, and treasury systems. A bitcoin app development company engagement is scoped the same way as any other: custody model first, then the product around it.
Yes, and it is often the same project. Crypto exchange development services here cover the matching engine, order book, custody infrastructure, liquidity, and compliance. A cryptocurrency exchange app development company engagement adds native iOS and Android clients on the same backend. Using a single crypto exchange development company for both the trading engine and the wallets removes the usual seam between them, since our cryptocurrency exchange developers work on the custody layer too. That boundary is where most exchange incidents have historically happened.
Yes. As a crypto coin development company we take on token work without a wallet attached, covering contract implementation, distribution and vesting, and independent audit before deployment. Cryptocurrency coin development solutions are usually a shorter engagement than a wallet, typically six to ten weeks including the audit window.
The majors are routine. Beyond those, adding a network is a scoped piece of work rather than a barrier, and clients regularly ask us to create stellar wallet support, or add Cardano, Polkadot, Tron, or an app-specific chain. If the network has a maintained SDK we can support it, and if it does not we will tell you what building against the raw protocol will cost.
Yes. Users comparing the best cryptocurrency wallet app iOS has to offer are judging on Secure Enclave key storage, Face ID signing, and whether the app survives an iCloud restore. Native Swift gives you the tightest integration with those, and it is the route we recommend when iOS is your primary market.
Yes. Not every engagement is a full wallet. Crypto application development services here include dApp frontends, wallet integrations into an existing product, contract tooling, and analytics dashboards. A crypto app development agency engagement of that size typically runs four to ten weeks.
Chain-agnostic architecture, key management designed before the interface, independent audit, and a support arrangement that survives the first chain upgrade. Firms advertising the best blockchain wallet development services rarely mention the last one, which is the item most likely to determine whether your wallet still works in eighteen months.
Canadian users typically compare Coinbase Wallet, Trust Wallet, MetaMask, and exchange-linked apps from Canadian platforms. Anyone searching for the best crypto wallet Canada offers is weighing withdrawal reliability, CAD support, and whether the operator is registered here. Building a competitive canada cryptocurrency wallet means matching those expectations: Interac and CAD on-ramp, FINTRAC-compliant onboarding, bilingual support, and responsive withdrawals. That is what we design for when a client wants a crypto wallet app Canada users will trust with meaningful balances.
Registration comes first. Anyone holding or transmitting customer value in Canada generally needs MSB registration with FINTRAC, and a platform trading assets that look like securities has provincial regulators to satisfy as well. Products aiming to be the best crypto wallet app Canada has, or to compete with the top crypto exchange Canada options already listed, get there on trust and compliance rather than on features. We scope both from week one, alongside your counsel.
Yes. A local cryptocurrency wallet built for one market can compete on the things global apps handle badly: domestic payment rails, local currency pairs, language, and support in the right time zone. Several clients have built the best canadian cryptocurrency wallet for their niche precisely by being narrower than the international apps.
