Hire React Native Developers in the USA

Most React Native Resumes Are React Resumes

The two skill sets overlap far less than the titles suggest, and that confusion causes more failed hires than anything else. Ours have shipped to both stores, written native modules in Swift and Kotlin, and migrated to the New Architecture.

Why US Companies Hire React Native Developers From Us

You Interview. You Decide. You Can Say No.

Nobody gets assigned to your team without your approval. You see real profiles with real app store links, you run your own technical interview, and you can reject anyone for any reason without it becoming a conversation. We would rather send four candidates and have you pick one than push a warm body into a seat to fill a contract. If none of them fit, we go back and look again, and you have paid nothing.

A Paid Trial Before Any Commitment

Two weeks of real work on your actual codebase, at the agreed rate, with no long-term obligation attached. Interviews tell you how well someone interviews. A fortnight of pull requests tells you whether they read existing code before changing it, whether they ask questions at the right moment, and whether they can work in your time zone without everything queuing overnight. If it is not working, you stop and owe nothing beyond the two weeks.

Genuine Native Depth, Not Just JavaScript

The parts of a React Native project that go wrong are rarely JavaScript. They are the Xcode signing configuration, the Gradle build that breaks on upgrade, the third-party library that has not been updated for the New Architecture, the crash that only appears in release builds on a four-year-old Android handset. Our engineers can open the native projects and fix those things, which is the difference between a contractor who unblocks your team and one who becomes another blocker.

Real Overlap With US Working Hours

Engineers work a schedule with genuine overlap against Pacific through Eastern time, not a token hour at the edge of the day. They join your stand-up, they are reachable in your Slack when something breaks in the afternoon, and code review does not sit for a day waiting for the other side of the planet to wake up. We will tell you honestly how many overlap hours a given candidate can commit to before you interview them rather than after you have hired.

Mobile apps carry personal data, payment credentials and sometimes health records, so the engineers we place work to controls rather than to good intentions. That means signed NDAs and IP assignment before repository access, background-checked staff, least-privilege access to your systems with an audit trail, secrets kept out of the JavaScript bundle where they can be trivially extracted, and secure storage on device through the Keychain and Keystore rather than plain preferences. Among the Best React Native Developers for Hire in the USA

Review boards including Clutch, DesignRush and GoodFirms list AppStudio among the stronger cross-platform development firms in North America. People arrive here having typed quite different things into a search box. Hire React Native developers. Hire React Native development company. Hire React Native agency. Hire React Native development services. Hire React Native software development team. Hire React Native app development agency. Hire React Native software development agency. Hire React Native development team, or software development partners specializing in React Native for a longer programme. Those phrases describe different commercial shapes, from one seat to a full pod, and the screening bar behind all of them is identical.

How Hiring Works, Step by Step

Five stages, Brief, Match, Interview, Trial and Scale, with your veto at every one of them.

Brief

A half-hour call about the role rather than about us. What is the state of the codebase, which React Native version is it pinned to, is it Expo or bare, who reviews pull requests today, and what breaks if this seat stays empty for another two months. We will also ask what you are budgeting, because a rate expectation that does not match the seniority you are describing is better surfaced in the first call than after three interviews. If what you actually need is a fixed-scope project rather than a hire, we will say so.

Match

Within two to four business days you get a shortlist, normally two to four engineers rather than a database dump. Each profile carries real detail: apps they shipped with store links you can open on your own phone, the React Native versions they have worked across, whether they have written native modules, public repositories where those exist, and their committed overlap hours against your time zone. We put forward people we would put on our own projects, and we would rather send you two genuine fits than six padded profiles.

Interview

You run your own technical interview, on your terms, with as many rounds as you want. Use your existing loop if you have one, or use the eight questions further up this page if you do not have a mobile specialist internally to run the screen. We can supply a take-home or a live pairing exercise if that suits you better. Nobody is placed on your team without your explicit yes, and rejecting a candidate takes one sentence with no explanation owed and no pressure applied.

Trial

Two weeks of paid work on your real codebase, at the agreed rate, with no commitment beyond those two weeks. This is where you learn the things interviews cannot show you: whether they read the surrounding code before changing it, whether their pull requests are reviewable, whether they raise a problem on day two instead of quietly burning a week, and whether the overlap hours work in practice rather than on paper. If it is not right, you stop, you pay for the two weeks, and we go back to matching at no cost.

Scale

After the trial the engagement runs month to month on thirty days’ notice from either side. Scale up by adding engineers who go through exactly the same process, or scale down when a release ships and the workload drops. Code stays in your repository, store accounts stay in your name, and documentation is written as work happens rather than assembled in a panic at the end. If you eventually hire someone permanent to replace the seat, we will help with the handover instead of making it difficult.

The Decisions Behind a React Native Hire

Most of the value in this page is not the pitch, it is the context that helps you buy well. These are the questions US clients ask us most often, answered as we would answer them on a call.

The three that change outcomes most are seniority versus rate, since one strong engineer usually beats two average ones on a mobile codebase, Expo versus bare workflow, which shapes who you should hire, and the state of your dependency tree, which decides whether an upgrade takes a week or a quarter.

Where our own interest conflicts with the honest answer, we have tried to say so plainly.

US-based senior contractors typically run between eighty and a hundred and sixty dollars an hour depending on the market and how specialised the work is, with the Bay Area, New York and Seattle at the upper end. Nearshore engineers in Latin America generally sit between forty-five and eighty an hour with close to full overlap against US hours, which is why that region has grown so quickly for American buyers. Eastern Europe lands in a similar band with a harder time zone. South Asia is commonly twenty-five to fifty. Rates quoted when you hire React Native software development company capacity, or hire React Native software development firm capacity for a fixed deliverable, sit above a freelancer’s personal rate for the obvious reason that they include screening, replacement cover, a reviewer above the engineer and someone carrying the employment relationship. Whether that premium is worth paying depends entirely on whether you have someone internally who can technically assess a mobile engineer. If you do, hiring direct is often better value and we will say so.
Worth stating clearly because people search for certified React Native developers and some suppliers are happy to imply the credential exists. Meta maintains React Native as an open source project and issues no certification for it. Meta does publish React courses through Coursera, and those are React for the web rather than React Native, so a certificate from that programme tells you nothing about someone’s ability to ship a mobile app. Any other certificate is a course provider confirming that somebody finished their videos. What genuinely substitutes for a credential is much simpler: apps in the App Store and Google Play that you can download and use, a repository you can read, and the ability to answer specific questions about upgrades, native modules and release crashes without becoming vague.
People search for the best sites to hire React Native developers, so here is the landscape with our own bias disclosed, which is that we are one of the options below and we earn money if you choose us. Marketplaces such as Upwork and Fiverr give you the widest choice and the lowest rates, with screening entirely on you, which works well if you have a mobile lead internally and badly if you do not. Curated networks such as Toptal and Arc pre-screen and charge a premium for it. Job boards and your own network give the best long-term economics for a permanent hire but take two to four months. Development agencies, us included, cost more per hour and are worth it mainly when you need someone vetted quickly, want a replacement guarantee, or need a whole pod rather than a person. If you can hire a permanent senior mobile engineer and keep them busy for years, that is usually the best financial outcome, and the sensible use of an agency is to cover the gap while you recruit.
The old advice that serious apps must use the bare workflow is out of date and you should treat it as a signal about the person repeating it. Development builds, config plugins and prebuild mean the managed Expo workflow now handles custom native code, and the React Native documentation itself points new projects toward Expo. Practically, EAS Build removes the need to maintain your own macOS build machines and EAS Update gives you over-the-air JavaScript releases, both of which matter a lot to a small team. Bare still makes sense when you have deep custom native work, an existing brownfield app with an established native build, or strict constraints on external build services. For hiring, an Expo project means you can consider a slightly broader pool, while a bare project with heavy native code needs someone genuinely comfortable in Xcode and Gradle rather than someone who tolerates them.
The New Architecture, meaning Fabric as the renderer plus TurboModules over JSI, is the default in current React Native versions, and the bridge-based approach it replaced is on its way out. If your app is pinned to an older release, this migration is coming whether you plan for it or not, and the work is rarely in your own code. It is in the dependency tree: every third-party library that touches native has to support the new system, and the abandoned ones need replacing or forking. That audit is the first thing a competent engineer will do, and it is what makes the estimate honest rather than optimistic. Teams that leave this too long end up doing a large upgrade under deadline pressure because a new device, an OS release or a store requirement forced their hand.
A live issue for a lot of existing apps. Microsoft retired App Center, and CodePush went with it, so teams that relied on it for over-the-air JavaScript updates have had to move. EAS Update is the mainstream replacement and works whether or not you use the rest of the Expo tooling, with self-hosted alternatives available for organisations that need them. Two limits are worth understanding before you rely on this at all. Native code changes cannot ship over the air, they need a store release, so an OTA channel does not exempt you from the review process. And both Apple and Google set rules about what an update may change, so using it to substantially alter an app’s purpose is a good way to have a problem. Used properly, it is for fixing a bad bug in hours instead of days.
We build with React Native constantly and it is still not right for everything. If your app is essentially a 3D or heavily graphical experience, or a game, use a native engine or Unity instead. If it depends on the newest platform capability the moment it ships, native gets there first and cross-platform waits. If ninety per cent of the work sits in platform APIs and almost none in shared business logic, the cross-platform argument mostly evaporates. Flutter is a reasonable alternative and the deciding factor is usually your team rather than the technology, because if your engineers already write TypeScript and React, React Native has a far shorter runway than adopting Dart. And if you only need one platform and expect never to need the other, native is simpler. We would rather tell you this now than eighteen months in.
Sometimes a placement does not work, and how a supplier behaves in that moment tells you more than any case study. If an engineer is not performing, tell us and we replace them, with the replacement going through your interview process exactly as the first one did. There is no argument about it and no invoice for the transition. Ending the engagement entirely takes thirty days’ notice and nothing else. Your code is already in your repository, your store accounts are already in your name, documentation goes in as work happens rather than being assembled at the end, and we will do a handover call with whoever picks the work up, including a permanent hire who is effectively replacing us. Making an exit difficult buys a supplier a few extra months and a bad reference, which is a poor trade.

Hire React Native Developers Who Have Shipped, Not Just Studied

The market is full of people who can write a React component and thin on people who have carried a mobile app through two years of OS releases, store policy changes and version upgrades. Our screening is built around that gap. Every engineer we put forward has apps you can download, has worked across React Native versions rather than one, and can talk about a release they broke and how they fixed it. You interview them, you run a paid trial, and you keep only the ones you want.

Companies come to us to hire React Native app developers for a single seat, to hire React Native programmers into an existing squad, to hire React Native development team capacity for a full build, and to hire React Native consultants for an architecture review. We staff mid-level through to lead, plus the roles around them. Hire React Native designers who understand platform conventions rather than web layouts, hire React Native engineers who automate testing on real devices, native module specialists in Swift and Kotlin, and backend engineers who design APIs for connections that drop halfway through a request.

The job title people search for varies as much as the engagement does, and it rarely changes what they need. Hire React Native application developer. Hire React Native mobile app developer. Hire React Native mobile app developers for a team. Hire React Native app coders. Hire React Native app programmers, or hire React Native apps programmers if that is the phrasing your organisation uses. Hire native React developers. Hire React Native application development capacity for one release. Hire React Native app development help for a launch. Hire react-native developers for a bare workflow project. Hire dedicated React Native app developer for six months. All of it starts with the same twenty-minute screen.

The same goes for seniority and geography. Hire expert React Native developers for a rescue, hire expert React Native app developers to stabilise a release, hire top React Native developers for a greenfield build, hire React Native experts for a second opinion, or hire best React Native developers USA teams can interview this week. Hire React Native developer in USA time zones, hire React Native app developer in USA working hours, hire React Native developer USA clients can reach at 2pm Eastern. Whether the goal is to hire the best React Native developers available or simply hire skilled developers who will still be here in six months, we would rather you judged the individual than the adjective. React Native developers in US hours, React Native developers to hire monthly, React Native app developers for hire on a fixed project, React Native devs for hire part-time, React Native for hire in whatever shape suits: the model flexes, the bar does not.

React Native engineers reviewing a mobile release together

Frequently Asked Questions

One codebase covering iOS and Android is the headline, and in practice teams share somewhere between seventy and ninety per cent of their code depending on how much the app leans on platform features. That means one team instead of two, one set of business logic to keep correct, and features landing on both platforms together rather than Android trailing iOS by a release. The hiring market is also deeper and cheaper for JavaScript and TypeScript engineers than for separate Swift and Kotlin specialists. Over-the-air updates let you fix a JavaScript bug in hours rather than waiting on store review. The honest counterweight is that you still need genuine native skill on the team for the build configuration, native modules and platform-specific bugs, which is precisely what most teams underestimate when they budget for it.
Four recur. Version upgrades, because moving across major versions touches native project files and every dependency that bridges to native, which is why apps get stranded on old releases. Performance on lower-end Android, where long lists, unoptimised images and animations driven from the JavaScript thread show up as jank that never appears on the reviewer’s iPhone. Native module gaps, when you need a platform capability nobody has wrapped yet and someone has to write Swift or Kotlin. And release engineering, meaning signing, provisioning, store review and staged rollouts, which is where teams without mobile experience lose the most time. None of these are reasons to avoid React Native. They are the reasons to make sure at least one person on the team has genuinely shipped before.
By making the parts that usually fail visible early. Every engineer is screened on native depth rather than JavaScript alone, because that is where projects stall. Work runs in two-week sprints with something you can install on your own device at the end of each, so progress is demonstrable rather than reported. A senior engineer reviews code even when the placement is a single developer, so nobody is working unsupervised. Release engineering is set up at the start rather than discovered near launch. And where we think you are about to make an expensive mistake, such as building a native module for something a library already handles, we say so in writing even when the longer path would earn us more.
Healthcare and digital health, financial services and fintech, retail and eCommerce, logistics and delivery, media and streaming, real estate, education, travel and hospitality, fitness and wellness, field service and utilities, manufacturing, and SaaS companies building a mobile companion to an existing web product. The value of domain familiarity is mostly about ramp time and about knowing which constraints are non-negotiable, so an engineer who has worked under HIPAA does not need to be taught why analytics cannot capture certain screens, and one who has built for logistics already assumes the connection will drop mid-task.
Yes, and in practice almost everything we build is custom, since off-the-shelf rarely survives contact with a real business process. That includes bespoke native modules in Swift and Kotlin when you need a platform capability or a hardware SDK that no existing library wraps, custom design systems shared between your mobile app and your web product, offline-first data layers with conflict resolution suited to how your users actually work, and integrations with whatever back office system you already run. If you have an existing app rather than a blank page, we can work inside it, and the first step is a codebase audit with a written assessment before anybody proposes a rewrite.
Tell us and we replace them, and the replacement goes through your interview process exactly as the first one did. No argument, no transition invoice, no awkward negotiation about whether the concern is fair. This is also why we run a two-week paid trial before any longer commitment, since most mismatches surface inside a fortnight of real pull requests and it is far better to find out then. If the second attempt is not right either, that is a signal we have misread the role, and at that point we would rather end the engagement cleanly than keep sending candidates.
We assume they will change, because on mobile they always do, whether from user feedback, an OS release or a store policy shift. Work runs in short sprints with a prioritised backlog you control, so changing direction means reordering the next sprint rather than renegotiating a contract. For fixed-scope engagements we agree upfront what constitutes a change and price it transparently instead of absorbing it quietly and recovering the cost elsewhere. What we push back on is changing the goal every sprint without ever letting anything ship, since that is the reliable way to spend a year and launch nothing.
The practical minimum is the two-week trial, and plenty of engagements are exactly that plus a short project. Beyond it, engagements run month to month with thirty days’ notice from either side, and there is no maximum or locked term. Some clients keep an engineer for years, others take somebody for a ten-week push before a launch and stop. For very small pieces of work, a few days of a consultant for an architecture review or a codebase audit is often better value than a monthly engagement, and we will point you there when it is the right answer.
Yes, before any detailed discussion if you prefer. Use ours or send your own paper, we are equally happy either way. Every engineer signs confidentiality and intellectual property assignment before they get access to your repository, so the work product is yours from the first commit rather than something transferred at the end. If your legal team needs specific clauses around data handling, subcontracting or jurisdiction, raise them early and we will work through them.
Our engineers work inside your tools rather than reporting from outside them. That normally means your Slack, your Jira or Linear, your repository and your stand-up, on the overlap hours agreed before you interviewed them. You talk to the engineer directly rather than through an account manager, because a layer between you and the person writing the code slows everything down and hides problems. For longer engagements there is a monthly check-in with someone senior on our side, mostly to catch the things clients are too polite to raise with the individual.
Through whatever your systems actually expose, and the first job is finding out honestly what that is. Modern REST or GraphQL APIs are the easy case. More often there is an older ERP, a CRM, a payment processor and an authentication provider, each with its own quirks, and sometimes a system whose vendor charges for API access. We design the mobile client to be resilient rather than assuming a perfect connection: requests that retry safely, idempotent writes so a repeated call does not duplicate an order, local caching so the app is usable while a request is in flight, and clear handling for the case where the server is simply unreachable. Where an API is missing we build a thin service layer rather than having the app talk directly to a fragile back end.
Yes. A short engagement is one of the more common reasons people arrive here: a launch deadline, a feature your team does not have the mobile skill for, parental leave cover, or a version upgrade nobody internally wants to own. The minimum is effectively the two-week trial, and plenty of engagements run six to twelve weeks and then stop. There is no penalty for a short engagement and no pressure to extend it. If the work is genuinely small, such as a codebase audit or an architecture opinion, a few days of a consultant is usually better value than putting a developer on a monthly rate.
A shortlist normally reaches you within two to four business days, and interviews can usually be scheduled the same week. Most engineers can start within one to two weeks of you saying yes, and occasionally sooner if someone has just rolled off. If you need somebody tomorrow, be sceptical of any supplier who promises it, because immediate availability across a whole shortlist usually means those people are on the bench for a reason. We would rather take an extra three days and send you someone we would put on our own projects.
Dedicated. When you engage an engineer full-time they work on your product and nothing else, they attend your stand-up and they are not quietly split across two other clients. Part-time engagements are dedicated for the agreed hours, with those hours fixed and known rather than fitted around whoever shouts loudest that week. We are wary of shared or pooled models because context switching on a mobile codebase is expensive and the person who loses is always the client with the smaller retainer. If you want dedicated React Native programmers embedded in your team rather than a rotating cast, that is the default here.
Both, and it depends on what constraint you are working against. Our offices are in San Francisco and Toronto, and our engineering teams work across North American and offshore locations. If you need US-based personnel because of a contractual or regulatory requirement, tell us at the first call and we will either meet it or tell you plainly that we cannot, rather than blurring it. If what you actually need is strong overlap with your working day, that is a different requirement and it is easier and cheaper to satisfy. For most product teams the questions that matter are how many hours a day the engineer is genuinely available to you, who reviews their code, and how quickly they can be replaced if it does not work out.
Enough that conflating them is the most common cause of a failed mobile hire. They share JSX, hooks, state management and TypeScript, so a strong React developer is productive in the JavaScript layer of a React Native app almost immediately. What does not transfer is everything native: Xcode and Gradle builds, signing and provisioning, writing modules in Swift or Kotlin, store submission and review, debugging release-only crashes, and version upgrades that touch native project files. Those are also the areas where a mobile project loses weeks. A React developer can absolutely become a React Native engineer with a real project and a good reviewer, but you should hire that transition deliberately rather than discover it after the offer. If it is web work you need, our React developers page is the better starting point.
No, and nobody else’s are either, because there is no official React Native certification to hold. Meta maintains the framework as an open source project and issues no credential for it. Meta does offer React courses through Coursera, but those cover React for the web rather than React Native, so that certificate says nothing about shipping a mobile app. Any other certification is a training provider confirming somebody watched their material. We would rather you judged our engineers the way we do: apps in the stores you can download and use right now, repositories you can read, and specific answers about upgrades, native modules and production crashes. If a supplier is selling certified React Native developers as a differentiator, ask which body issues the certificate.
Our bias should be obvious, so here it is stated: we are one of the options and we earn money if you pick us. Marketplaces such as Upwork and Fiverr offer the widest pool and the lowest rates, with all screening on you, which works if you have a mobile lead internally and goes badly if you do not. Curated networks such as Toptal and Arc pre-screen and charge a premium. LinkedIn, specialist job boards and your own network are best for a permanent hire but realistically take two to four months. Agencies like us cost more per hour and are worth it when you need someone vetted fast, want replacement cover, or need a full pod rather than one person. However you set out to find React Native developers, three questions matter more than the channel: who technically screened this person, what happens if they do not work out, and can you download something they built. Those apply equally whether you hire React Native development agency support for one deliverable, hire React Native development firm capacity by the month, or hire React Native development companies you found ranked side by side on a directory. If you can hire permanently and keep the person busy for years, that is usually the best economics, and using an agency to cover the gap while you recruit is a perfectly sensible plan.
Yes, and it is a genuinely distinct role rather than a web designer with a different file open. Mobile design has to respect platform conventions, so navigation patterns, system fonts and controls behave differently on iOS and Android, and a design that ignores that reads as wrong to users even when they cannot articulate why. It also has to account for safe areas and notches, dynamic type when someone has increased their font size, dark mode, one-handed reach, gesture conflicts with system gestures, and what a screen looks like while data is still loading. Our designers hand over specifications engineers can build without guessing, including states most mockups omit: empty, loading, error and offline.
Some engineers genuinely do both and we will tell you when a candidate is one of them, but be careful what you are optimising for. Full-stack sounds efficient and often means the mobile work gets whatever time is left after the API is fixed. If your backend needs real attention, a dedicated backend engineer alongside a dedicated mobile engineer usually delivers more than one person covering both. Where full-stack does work well is early-stage products with a small surface area and a single decision maker. What we recommend regardless is that whoever designs your API has built for mobile before, because APIs designed for a web client tend to be chatty, oversized and unforgiving of a connection that drops halfway through.
They are yours throughout, not handed over at the end. Code lives in your repository under your organisation from the first commit, with our engineers as contributors rather than owners. App Store Connect and Google Play accounts are created in your company’s name with your people as account holders, which sounds like a detail until a team tries to change supplier and finds their app published under an agency developer account. Signing certificates, provisioning profiles and keystores are stored somewhere you control, and losing an Android keystore means you cannot update your own app, so we treat that as a serious handover item rather than an afterthought.
Both, and existing apps are a large part of what we do. Typical requests are a version upgrade that has been deferred for years, a New Architecture migration, a performance rescue where the app has become slow on Android, adding a native capability nobody internally can build, or taking over an app whose original developers are gone. The first step is always a codebase audit with a written assessment, and the recommendation is sometimes that a rewrite is not justified and the money is better spent on three specific fixes. Taking over an undocumented codebase is normal work for us rather than an unusual ask.
Yes, and it is worth being clear that Expo expertise is now closer to mainstream than to a specialism. The React Native documentation itself points new projects toward Expo, and development builds with config plugins removed the old constraint that pushed serious apps into the bare workflow. If your project uses EAS Build and EAS Update, we will put forward engineers who have run those pipelines in production rather than people who have only read about them, since the failure modes around credentials, build profiles and update channels are learned the hard way. If you are on a bare workflow with heavy custom native code, we match differently and look for deeper Xcode and Gradle experience.
React Native for Web is real and it works, and Expo supports web as a build target, so you can share components and business logic across iOS, Android and a browser. Whether you should is a different question. It suits internal tools, dashboards and products where the web experience is genuinely a companion to the mobile app. It suits a marketing site or a content-heavy public web product much less well, where a normal web stack gives you better performance, better search visibility and a much larger hiring pool. If you are looking to hire React Native web developer skills specifically, the practical answer is usually an engineer strong in both React and React Native rather than a specialist in the compatibility layer itself.
Not the same, though closely related, and the distinction matters when you hire. React is the library for building user interfaces, most commonly in a browser. React Native uses React to build apps that render with real native components on iOS and Android. Shared knowledge is substantial, but as covered above, the mobile-specific parts are where projects get into trouble. If you need web work, our hire React developers page is the right place. If you need both, one team can often cover it, but make sure at least one person on it has genuinely shipped a mobile app rather than only maintained a web front end.
Yes, and worth clearing up the naming since people still search to hire Nexmo developers: Nexmo was acquired by Vonage and the platform is now Vonage Communications APIs. In a React Native context it usually turns up for in-app voice and video calling, SMS and WhatsApp messaging, or phone number verification during sign-up. The parts that need real mobile experience are the ones people underestimate, particularly getting calls to work reliably in the background on both platforms, wiring up CallKit on iOS and ConnectionService on Android so an incoming call behaves like a normal call, handling permissions and push wakeups, and keeping credentials out of the JavaScript bundle where anyone can read them. Twilio comes up for the same use cases and we work with both. If communications features are central to your app, say so when you brief the role and we will match on it.
People do occasionally come here wanting to hire RocksDB developers or hire Riak developers alongside a mobile team, so it is worth answering. Those are backend and infrastructure skills rather than React Native ones, and we would staff them as a separate role. RocksDB is an embedded key-value store used inside other systems, and on mobile the practical equivalent for fast local storage is usually MMKV, or SQLite and WatermelonDB when you need queries and an offline-first data layer. Riak comes up mostly around existing deployments rather than new ones, and if you are choosing a distributed data store today it is worth a conversation before defaulting to it. We can put forward backend engineers for both, and the honest advice is to keep the mobile hire and the data infrastructure hire separate, because the overlap in the market is small and looking for one person who covers both will slow your search considerably.
Yes. This page is written for US buyers, but we are headquartered in Toronto and a large part of our work is Canadian. If you want to hire dedicated React Native developers Canada wide, the model is identical, with rates quoted in Canadian dollars and Eastern time as the default working day. Our hire React Native app developers page covers Canadian engagements in more detail. Cross-border work is routine in either direction and the contracting is straightforward, since you are engaging a company rather than an individual, which avoids the classification questions that come with hiring a person directly across a border.
A technical screen with one of our own senior mobile engineers, not a recruiter with a keyword list. That screen covers the same ground as the eight questions on this page: New Architecture and JSI, list virtualisation, where animations run, upgrade experience, over-the-air update limits, debugging release-only crashes, and a walkthrough of something they shipped. We check that the apps they claim are real and installable. We verify English communication at the level the role needs, because a strong engineer who cannot raise a blocker clearly will still cost you time. Then we confirm their genuine overlap hours rather than the optimistic version. Roughly one in eight people we screen reaches a client shortlist.
Scaling up runs through the same process each time, so a second or third engineer still gets interviewed and still gets a trial. We keep that discipline even when a client would rather skip it, because the fastest way to damage a working team is to add someone unvetted. Scaling down needs thirty days’ notice and nothing more, with no penalty and no pressure to justify it. Teams often flex around a launch, running four engineers into a release and two afterwards, and that pattern is normal rather than a problem. What we ask is a little warning where you have it, since it lets us plan people’s next placements properly.
Yours is fine. Most clients use their own master services agreement and we work through it with our legal team, including clauses on IP assignment, confidentiality, data handling, subcontracting and jurisdiction. We have our own paper if you would rather move quickly and do not have a template. The commercial terms we hold firm on are few: thirty days’ notice, payment terms, and that the two-week trial is paid. Everything else is negotiable and we would rather spend a week getting the agreement right than have an ambiguity surface during a dispute.
Book a free consultation, half an hour, no charge and no obligation. Useful things to bring: which React Native version your app is on and whether it is Expo or bare, who reviews code today, the deadline you are working against, and your rate expectation. You will get an honest read on whether you need one engineer or a pod, a realistic rate range for that seniority, and profiles within a few days if it looks like a fit. If we think you would be better served hiring permanently or going to a marketplace, we will tell you that instead.
